Obituary for
Vincent W. Popo
Vincent W. Popo, 86, of Long Branch, passed away Monday June 13th at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Vincent was born in Canton, Ohio. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He moved to Long Branch after marrying his beloved wife of 63 years, Evelyn Horner Popo. He was a self employed Mason contractor and a member of the International Union of Masons and Bricklayers. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Long Branch and an avid gardener. Vincent will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is predeceased by his parents, Biagio and Anna Grace Popo; his son, Anthony Popo in 2005; his brothers, Leo and Anthony Popo; and his sisters, Mary Gilmore, Yolanda DeSantis, and Anna Popo.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Popo; his sons, Frank Popo, Florida, Michael Popo, Long Branch, Mario Popo and his wife Maria Lena, Colorado, Daniel Popo, New Brunswick, and Patrick Popo and his wife Sheila, Long Branch; 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the Woolley - Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell St, Long Branch, NJ on Friday, June 17th from 2 until 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity RC Church, Long Branch, on Saturday, June 18th at 9:30 a.m. A private interment will follow at a later date.
