Obituary for
Kathleen Kiernan Jamison
Kathleen Marie Kiernan Jamison, 60, Eatontown, passed away Saturday January 7th with her family by her side.
Kathy was born January 18, 1956, in Newport News, VA, to Joan Marie and Paul J. Kiernan, Jr. A lifelong resident of the shore area, Kathy was raised in Long Branch and lived in West Long Branch and Eatontown. She attended Star of the Sea Academy, Long Branch, Red Bank Catholic High School and Endicott College, Beverly, MA.
Kathy served as a secretary to Monmouth County Sheriff, Paul Kiernan, Sr. and later became Monmouth County’s first female Undersheriff. She was also a Civil Motions Manager for the Superior Court of New Jersey and secretary to Monmouth County Assignment Judge Alvin Yale Milberg. Kathy also worked as a legal assistant and paralegal for several attorneys and law firms including Bernard F. Boglioli, Michael A. Irene and her husband, William H. Jamison. She was most recently a legal assistant with Davison, Eastman & Munoz. Kathy also worked with several title companies, particularly the Red Bank Title Agency.
Kathy was a communicant of St. Michael’s RC Church. At the time her children attended St. Jerome School, West Long Branch, she was active in the PTA. She was a past member of the Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club and the Stanley Nichols Pediatric Foundation at Monmouth Medical Center.
Kathy was a breast cancer survivor since 2010. Affectionately known by her friends and her children’s friends as Mama J, she was always the life of the party. She had a smile for everyone and was always concerned with the welfare of others.
Kathy was predeceased by her mother, Joan M. Kiernan and her grandparents, Wilhelmina & Paul Kiernan, Sr. Surviving are her children William P. Jamison, Wall Twp., Bryan Jamison and his husband Frank Rizzo, New York City and Patricia Jamison and Michael Catlaw, Hoboken; their father William H. Jamison; her father Paul (Buddy) Kiernan, Jr.; her brothers Joseph Paul, III, Michael P., Patrick G., and Christopher P. and his wife Michele; and her sisters, Kim Ann and Karen and her husband Don Baker.
Visitation will be held Thursday January 12th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday January 13th at 10:30 AM at St. Michael’s R.C. Church, 800 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
